Dat Neon radio.
That looks like plastic hell.

first I've ever seen the dash and I really don't like it. I'm saddened now. Is this what it's like to meet your heroes?

That's a contemporary Viper? My dad's 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee wants its interior back. Wait no, the GC is way better.

and that Neon HVAC controls.

Yes, unfortunately. Without the fun of hooning it, you're stuck with a cramped, miserable cabin with the material quality of Mega Blocks.
I hate moving these things around the lot, partly because they're a 500hp liability and partly because I hate contorting into the driver's seat and trying to manipulate the skinny, tightly-packaged pedals with bulky work boots.

this is not one of the new vipers, the logo's different. but yeah, that cabin be awful. i think this is one of the gen. III or IVs. the gen. III also had the problem where the engineers said "it doesn't sound good enough!", so they routed the exhaust under the passenger's and driver's seat, so it was hellishly hot.

Buy a Viper GT3.R do it. Or just buy the new one. Or don't do either you know your choice.

2nd gen SRT10 coupe. The new one is a huge improvement.

mmm, cheap stereo, awesome sauce

That's a gen 2 viper...i think. The new viper is much better.

Oh I know. I've been in all 3 generations and the current car is lightyears ahead of this gen 2 in terms of quality.

I'd go 911 GT3 over a Viper. I love Vipers but I dread even having to sit in them.

looks like a nice place to be..:D

At least it's exposed fasteners are in the INSIDE.

Really? No GT3.R? But look at its redness.
![]() 08/26/2014 at 17:19 |

Original was worse.

Oh wow, it's a gen II? Cool. What color, and stripes or no stripes?

Yea, the first time I got behind the wheel of a Gen 2 GTS I felt like the sprint car I had driven had more space. I would still rock it, but holy hell. I don't know if thr RT/10s are any better or the Gen 3+ is roomier, but still... and that v10 noise!
![]() 08/26/2014 at 17:22 |

If you think that's bad, the original is way worse.
Nice fitment on those parking brake boots.
Aside from being incredibly difficult to get in and out of (even on the passenger side with no steering wheel in the way) and ridiculously cramped ins spite of the car being huge on the outside, the 1st-gen Viper interior is just crap. It makes a C5 Corvette feel luxurious.

At least you don't need heated seats as an option!!!

However, burnt arse isn't an option.
![]() 08/26/2014 at 17:44 |

It is if you leave your seats in too long.

I've detailed a couple GTSs before. I'd probably deal with that interior just because the GTS was so sexy.

A friend of mine had a '96 GTS. I felt so claustrophobic riding shotgun in that car.

All of Chrysler's stuff got a serious upgrade when Fiat took over. I tested a Durango and really couldn't believe Chrysler made it.

The shifter makes my pants feel funny. The everything inbetween doesn't.

What model year is it? Because there are five generations of vipers, but the third and fourth are pretty close together in appearance, so the model year is the way to tell them apart.

I forgot they broke it up like that. It's an 06 I think, so gen 3. I wore my sneakers instead of my work boots today when I pulled it out of the shop and that made a big difference.
I did post two real gen 2s somewhere else in the comments.
